Noontime Lions Donates KidsSight Camera
Kids Sight Camera DonatedLion Dean Martin, president of the Noontime Lions Club and Region IV, Zone B Chairman John Massa.
The KidSight Screening Camera was purchased by the Chambersburg Noontime Lions Club in 2001, as part of Lion District 14-T's KidSight program. Since that time it has been used by many of the Lions Clubs in Region IV to conduct children eye screening events in their communities.
This special Polaroid camera, using a special lens and film, is designed to help identify eye abnormalities in children 2 to 5 years old. It is designed especially for non-verbal children, who would be difficult to communicate with during a regular eye examination. The photos, when interpreted by an eye professional and compared to standards, can give indications of a potential sight problem in a child. This can lead to a referral for a more extensive examination of the child by an eye professional and early intervention to address any problem.
The Board of Directors of the Chambersburg Noontime Lions Club voted to donate the Club's KidSight Camera to Lions District 14-T, to better utilize the use of the camera throughout the entire District.
